V- Brake & Mechanical/Cable Disc Brake Adjustment
This video is pretty good at showing how to adjust v brakes. If your mechanical/cable disk brakes feel soft you can adjust the lever barrel adjuster in the same way as you adjust V-brakes. Also you can tighten the brake cable in much the same way as a V-brake by pulling the slack out of the cable.
